A little guidance

# How can we help?

From a first split to the mix you keep. Practical guidance for local files, practice and exports.

## Getting started

### Which Mac do I need?

Apple Silicon M1 or later, running macOS 14 or later. Intel Macs are outside the current supported scope.

### How does the first split work?

Choose a legally accessible local audio file, select the result, choose an output folder and add it to the Queue. MixSift processes queued files sequentially on your Mac. A completed result is available in the local Library.

## Files and exports

### Which files can I use?

Supported input extensions are WAV, AIFF (.aif/.aiff), FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC and OGG. A file’s codec or protection can still prevent decoding.

### What can I export?

Ordinary stem exports support FLAC, MP3, AAC (M4A), WAV and AIFF. Export Mix saves the full song with Level, Mute and Solo settings in WAV, AIFF or FLAC. It does not include master listening volume or metronome, and is not a loop or selected-region export.

## Local projects

The Library keeps a local index of your projects. If a folder moves or access is lost, reopen or relink the project. Removing a Library entry does not erase all audio files, caches or backups. Keep your own backups; MixSift does not provide cloud audio storage.

## Separation quality

Separation produces estimates, not the original isolated recordings. Vocals and instruments can bleed into other stems; artifacts can occur. “Other” can include several instruments.

Processing time varies with the recording and Mac. If a job fails, check local file access and available disk space before retrying. No fixed speed, disk or memory guarantee is made here.

## Purchases and Restore

Two successful free splits are planned. Final Pro options and production availability remain under review. Lifetime is a one-time purchase; Monthly, if included in the launch route, renews until canceled. Localized prices and terms are shown before purchase.

For an eligible purchase, use Restore Purchases in the app with the same Apple purchase account and internet available. If verification recovery is offered, follow it before trying to purchase again. Do not delete purchase records or repurchase to resolve an access problem.

## Manage a subscription

If you have a Monthly subscription, manage or cancel it through Apple. Uninstalling MixSift or deleting local data does not cancel billing.

Once a monitored route is approved, useful first-report details are the app version/build, macOS version, chip, action attempted and a safe support code. Do not send audio, raw logs, receipts, Apple passwords, full paths, private song/project names or transaction/customer identifiers. Redact screenshots first.
