MixSiftAsk where the recording is processed
In a local workflow, separation runs on your computer. A cloud workflow sends audio to another service for processing. The practical questions differ: whether a recording must leave your device, where computation happens, where the resulting files are kept, and what the service says about retention. Check each provider’s actual policy rather than assuming all cloud services behave alike.
MixSift processes audio locally on the Mac without uploading it for separation. It requires Apple Silicon M1 or later and macOS 14 or later. Processing time depends on the recording and the Mac; no comparison benchmark or speed guarantee is presented here.
Local audio does not make every service offline
Obtaining the app, purchases, Restore and access verification can require internet. Those services are distinct from separating the recording. Online support correspondence is also a separate transfer: information you choose to send in a message is not the same as automatic audio upload.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is selected for this website and, when enabled, measures visits and performance. RevenueCat production activation and app telemetry remain disabled in the reviewed app configuration. Read the Privacy Policy for information about data handling.
The app is in prelaunch review. A verified public download is not provided here; any eventual localized purchase price and terms are shown by the Store before purchase.
Plan a practical local session
Make sure the permitted input is available on your Mac. Downloading a file from your own cloud storage first is a separate network action.
Choose an accessible output folder and keep your own backups. MixSift’s Library is a local project index, not cloud audio storage.
Allow for the Mac’s compute and storage needs without assuming a fixed processing time. Keep source and project folders accessible.
If you need help, send safe version/action details first. Do not send audio, raw logs, receipts, full paths or private identifiers.
Offline audio processing is a boundary about the recording’s processing path, not a promise that every account or commerce action works without a connection.
Choose based on the real requirement
If your requirement is to keep the recording on your Mac for separation, that is the relevant local capability. If you need shared cloud projects or server-side storage, MixSift does not supply that service. For file preparation, continue with the local input checklist.
