Bring four files, not one custom balance
Use the four separate files from Full Stems when you want to adjust Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other independently in a DAW. Export Mix combines a balance into one file; it is not a four-track project handoff. Choose an ordinary output format your DAW accepts, such as WAV or AIFF, and keep the files from the same separation together.
This is an audio-file workflow, not a MixSift plugin, a live link or a DAW-session export. The files remain estimates, not original session recordings. See the file-provenance guide.
Preserve the common start
Create a DAW project and import each group to its own audio track. Place all four at the same timeline start. Retain leading silence; do not align each file to its first audible note.
Check for automatic stretching, warping, trimming or fades during import. For an unchanged first comparison, preserve original timing and file starts before making creative edits.
Play the groups together and compare several landmarks near the beginning and later in the song. If timing drifts, inspect import/stretch settings and file placement before assuming the separation is misaligned.
Keep an untouched copy of the handoff. Apply later edits coherently when the four parts need to stay aligned. Choosing a project BPM alone does not establish the recording’s actual tempo.
Example: importing into Ableton Live
Ableton’s official stem-import instructions recommend disabling Auto-Warp Long Samples to preserve starts and disabling Create Fades on Clip Edges when preserving the initial attack. On Mac, hold Command while dropping multiple files to distribute them across separate tracks. Set the project tempo to the source tempo when known. Check your installed version’s settings labels.
That example concerns Live’s import behavior. It does not add tempo analysis or tempo export to MixSift. Other DAWs need their own import and time-stretch settings checked.
Listen before building further edits
Check that there are four intended tracks, no accidental duplicate file, and no track or master overload. Make level decisions in the DAW. MixSift’s live mixer controls do not rewrite the ordinary stem files you imported.
Four aligned files still cannot provide separate guitar and piano tracks within Other. Bleed and artifacts may limit editing. Use material you are entitled to process and share, and retain a clear record that the files came from separation.
